　　關(guān)于“U”的單位U是一種表示服務(wù)器外部尺寸的單位，是unit的縮略語。規(guī)定了服務(wù)器的尺寸，可以使服務(wù)器以一定的尺寸放在機(jī)架上。機(jī)架上有固定服務(wù)器的螺孔，以便它能與服務(wù)器的螺孔對上號，再用螺絲加以固定好，這樣子可以方便安裝每一部服務(wù)器所需要的空間。

　　42U機(jī)柜42U機(jī)柜一般的分類是：1)按寬度分：600mm和800mm寬的42U機(jī)柜，深度有：600mm,800mm,900mm,960mm,1000mm,1100mm,1200mm等;2)按實(shí)際需求分：除了實(shí)際使用尺寸是42U之外，寬度和深度可以按照實(shí)際需求定制。一個(gè)機(jī)柜所放的服務(wù)器是有限的，42U高度的機(jī)柜并不代表著實(shí)際能夠放42個(gè)1U服務(wù)器。放了服務(wù)器之后還要留散熱和挪動(dòng)的空間，一些走線的空間，還有放交換機(jī)、防火墻、顯示器等其他設(shè)備的空間。所以一個(gè)42U機(jī)柜能放多少服務(wù)器，需要根據(jù)具體的設(shè)備來計(jì)算。那么問題來了，一個(gè)機(jī)柜一般部署多少臺服務(wù)器設(shè)備?一個(gè)機(jī)柜部署的服務(wù)器數(shù)量，要考慮很多參數(shù)，比如服務(wù)器的體積、功耗、發(fā)熱量等物理參數(shù)，還需要考慮機(jī)柜的供電、冷卻、承重等參數(shù)，如何確定能部署多少臺服務(wù)器，做決定時(shí)可以參考一下關(guān)鍵參數(shù)：1)預(yù)留：每個(gè)設(shè)備間預(yù)留1U以便散熱，預(yù)留交換機(jī)位置，考慮PDU位置;2)一般提供冗余10KW電源，靜態(tài)承載能力不小于1200kg(根據(jù)機(jī)房建設(shè)參數(shù)確定)3)不超電的前提下，一個(gè)機(jī)柜累計(jì)設(shè)備U數(shù)，一般不超過26U一個(gè)機(jī)柜，全1U設(shè)備部署數(shù)量一般不超過16臺，全2U設(shè)備一般不超過12臺，全4U設(shè)備一般4到7臺。
